Kids Trampoline
68The fight to get kids to be active and exercise regularly
can be a challenge, especially against the lure of sedentary activities like
video games and television. To make matters worse schools have cut back on
recess reducing the likelihood of outdoor play and increasing the risk of
obesity.
Yet not all hope is lost. Trampolines can offer a great aerobic workout, exercising the lower half of the body and help build confidence. Staying active and exercising is known to prevent a host of diseases, and trampolines offer a fun alternative to just running on a treadmill. Kids like to jump up and down, otherwise there would not be inflatables like moon bounces. Yet a moon bounce is not designed for exercise, lacking the ability to strengthen the body, which makes a trampoline the perfect alternative.
How Trampolines Work
Trampolines are a simple design consisting of only a few parts – a steel frame, a piece of fabric and springs or cords. The springs connect the frame and the fabric, offering the elasticity when one jumps. The fabric itself is not elastic.
The force of the user jumping, pushes the springs and creates a reaction where the material returns to ts original position, shooting the jumper up into the air. The basic physics formula is total energy equals potential energy plus kinetic energy or TE = PE + KE
Trampoline Safety
The best rule of thumb when you have a trampoline is to read the instructions that come with it to ensure proper safety and minimize injury. Other common tips include:
- Explain the rules of using the trampoline
- Supervise the kids while the trampoline is in use
- Do not let more than one kid jump on a trampoline at a time
- Do not let kids attempt tricks like somersaults unless trained or experienced
- Ensure there is netting or padding in case someone bounces off
- Do not let kids jump onto or off of the trampoline
- Ensure kids have nothing sharp on them while jumping

Great article, my kids love their trampoline. But getting them to go on one at a time is pretty much impossible, it's one of those rules that just seems to be unenforceable.
the trampoline was one of the best investment that I have made for my kids, they use it almost everyday. When their friends come over they alway go on the tramploine Great article!!
