Ramius' 60 Day HubChallenge Log

69

By N. Ramius

Update:

If you would prefer to not go through day by day to find my hubs, here is a link to all 30 Hubs, grouped by keyword with summary.

Purpose:

With the loss of the Hub Contest and the fiscal motivation needed to keep going, I have decided to enter Sunforged's 60 day challenge. It is time I take it up to the next level as I am still unemployed and need all the money and discipline I can get. I also want to motivate myself to publish more content and prove I can make real money online as I am constantly having crisis of confidence and waver in dedication.

Goals for Month 1:

  • To obtain no less than .50 cents in Amazon commissions to push myself to the payout marker. Goal Met!
  • To make it to Amazon's second tier of items sold. Goal Met!
  • To average 100 organic search engine page views a day across all hubs, those in challenge and not. Currently my 28 hubs are giving me ~ 60 total views a day from all sources. As of April 24 - Goal Met!
  • To average at least 50 page views a day from these Challenge Hubs. Cannot Determine.
  • To have at least 5 pages of content up on my personal website with back links from related hubs. - 1 Page of Content
  • To learn proper promotional methods and tweak keyword studies. - Inactive until Month 2
  • To find an accounting job (First time I'm really writing down my goals so thought I'd throw this in here as well. I've been out of work for over a year) or prove I can make real money through online writing Goal Partially Met! - Part Time Acct. Job

Motivation:

To make money to pad my bank account so I don't go broke when I enter my real estate partnership with my friend.

Topics to Cover:

1. Amazon Targeted Garden / Summer Appliance related Hubs (~10)

  • In order to make Amazon payout goal
  • To be relevant to spring / summer season
  • Subcategory decided after Keyword Research

2. Patio Related Hubs (~10)

  • To serve as back links to website
  • To maximize shared content - research only once for website and hub to maximize earning
  • Subtopics after more research

3. Candy Related Hubs (~10)

  • Fascinated by candy
  • Testing waters before going for candy niche website
  • To do more research to test marketability of creating own candy business
  • Subtopics after more research

The Amazon sales hubs are designed around commission and making quick sales. My main AdSense boost and page view generation should come from Patio and Candy articles.

Welcome Aboard N.Ramius. I am sure every particpant would be successful in his/her goals. My wishes with you. And I must tell you that your goals are very specific and it really helps. I would also have to think more specific about my goals now.

The trouble with HubPages in your situation is that the money isn't instant. But if you have the time, it's worth a go, and you'll reap the rewards eventually. Good luck!

A stiff set of goals - best of luck with that. As Marisa said, it takes a while, but this challenge is a great shortcut!

I'm aware it's not instant money. Though I do hope I can get $0.50 more commissions from Amazon.

And to master promotions would be the biggest help I think so I don't waste as much time

Hi N Ramius. I'm looking to learn a lot more about promotion in this challenge too. I'll be cheering for you with the payout and moving up to the next level. Good luck.

Great start Ramius and welcome onboard the 60DC :) The more the merrier, the more that can reach their objectives and learn along the way. Ultimately, we can then help other hubbers, whether they're here to share stories, poetry or for commercial purposes. The best of luck!

I can tell you I am anxiously anticipating your Candy Hubs! I think I love candy (and cookies) more than food. The 60 days challenge is taking form in such an encouraging way I am beyond excited. And just wanted to say Hi!

Sounds like you have some pretty clear goals in mind. Impressive. I have no experience, nor knowledge of internet marketing, so I will be of little use to you. However, I will say, Go N. Ramius, Rah Rah Rah. I'm cheering for you.

Ramius - you're dc-log made me smile. so candid and kinda 'my life is crazy sometimes'. Almost like a daily journal that no one but you would read. Loved it.

And look - you've worked damn hard in the last week. By my reckoning you've published 28. Were I you, I'd be chuffed as a nun wearing a new habit. You're doing great - you've done great - now get the last one's published then help me out with sunforged's halfway challenge hub :)

You dont have to knock yourself out, just a few questions. I love this and think you'd make a great hubber to 'interview'. Check out the 60dc forum so you know what I'm on about.

Crack on - almost there!!
